Overview
The Forward Investment Club’s Training Camp is a cornerstone event that embodies the collaborative and practice-driven spirit of our club. Held annually, this immersive, overnight camp pushes members to actively engage with the investment process through a comprehensive stock screening exercise. Participants work together to screen every listed Japanese company in a single night, meticulously evaluating over 3,800 companies. It offers a unique opportunity for participants to apply their knowledge in a practical setting while refining their analytical skills.
Annual Tradition
The Forward Investment Club’s Training Camp is an annual tradition that has become a hallmark event for our members. This intensive camp is designed to challenge participants' analytical skills and deepen their understanding of the investment process in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
Mentorship
Senior members play a crucial role as mentors, guiding new participants through the screening process. Each team is paired with experienced members who provide valuable insights and support, helping newcomers to refine their stock selection strategies and make informed decisions.
Screening Exercise
One of the key highlights of the Training Camp is the rigorous screening exercise, where participants use the "Shikihou" handbook, which covers the performance of over 3,800 Japanese companies. In just one night, teams meticulously screen all the listed companies and select five stocks they believe have the highest potential for investment. In 2019, participants successfully identified M3 as a top investment pick, showcasing the sharp analytical skills fostered at the camp.
Final Presentation
The camp culminates in a final presentation where each team presents their chosen investment targets. Despite the camp’s one-night duration, which often results in sleepless nights, participants are fully dedicated to making the best possible investment decisions. The intensity of the experience, combined with the collaborative effort of the teams, makes this event one of the most anticipated and respected traditions in the club.
